If you’re clearing land, building roads, conducting bulk earthworks, or tackling a quarrying job, iseekplant can help you find the right dozer to get your job done. As Australia's largest construction gear and services marketplace, we connect you with over 25,000 verified suppliers offering everything from tracked dozers for tough terrain, wheeled dozers for compacted sites, and swamp dozers for soft, wet or boggy ground. We also offer drotts for hire (a tracked loader). Our quality, verified suppliers hire their dozers out on a wet or dry hire basis, and most prefer longer-term contracts (given the costs associated with mobilisation and demobilisation of dozers to a site). It is possible to hire smaller dozers for shorter terms. Most of our suppliers are open to having that conversation, so we encourage you to call them and discuss.
You can also hire companies on a subcontracted basis that use dozers as part of their service, including companies in the earthmoving, earthworks and bulk earthworks categories.
The rates for hiring a dozer differ substantially because onboard technology including GPS and telematics enhances both precision and efficiency. The lack of modern features in older dozers does not prevent them from performing heavy-duty tasks, so they can often provide a more affordable solution. Our database contains essential information about each dozer which will help you select the appropriate machine for your project. Rates below include GST.

There are four types of dozers categorised on iseekplant, with the tracked dozer being the most popular. The differences relate particularly to their propulsion system and hire choice comes down to the compaction level of the ground you're operating the dozer on.
When you think of tracked dozers, Caterpillar dozers usually come to mind as they are the most loved, and the most common. These machines have tracks that provide higher traction on loosely compacted terrains, making them the most popular and efficient dozers for bulk earthworks operations. This is the most popular and widely operated dozer in construction.
A wheeled dozer is a type of bulldozer that is designed for speed and maneuverability, with wheels instead of tracks. They and can operate with dexterity on more strongly compacted services (including asphalt). You can hire a wheeled dozer on iseekplant by going through the dozer category, and refining to wheeled dozer on the left hand side panel.
A swamp dozer is similar to a tracked dozer, but with extra wide tracks to distribute its weight over a larger area for better traction in swampy, loose or sandy areas where traditional dozers would get bogged.
Drotts are sometimes confused for dozers when they are in fact a tracked loader. Their chassis is a dozer for all intents and purposes, but rather than having a blade, they have a bucket for digging and lifting materials, rather than pushing them.
Given the prolific nature of Caterpillar dozers in Australia, we have used the Caterpillar size nomenclature in our database to denote the dozer's size. Even in the case where the dozer might be a Komatsu brand, or John Deere, it is still catalogued and organised within the Caterpillar size brackets. This is because most commercial construction project managers and civil engineers think of dozer sizing in this way.
