Concrete sawing should only be completed if the concrete has hardened to its optimum condition. It is recommended that concrete can take about three to seven days to fully harden. However, factors such as concrete mix and weather also affect the curing period of cement. Leaving the cement to cure for a long period of time could also result in uncontrolled cracking.

The best way to indicate if the concrete is prepared for concrete sawing is to make trial cuts and check for raveling. If the raveling stops during the trial cuts, then it is the best time to commence the concrete sawing.

Dry sawing is primarily completed outdoors due to the huge amount of dust it produces. Wire sawing is performed when creating accurate cuts or openings in steel or reinforced concrete. The floor sawing method is designed to create perfect holes and cuts into roads, concrete floors and any other flat surfaces. Wall sawing is completed when creating holes for doors and windows. Alternatively, ring sawing is used for executing small and medium-sized concrete sawing projects.
