1. European Rebar. This rebar is mostly made out of manganese. Though it's very easy to work with European rebar because of its low resistance to bending, it's not recommended for use in areas that experience earthquakes.
2. Carbon Steel Rebar. Known as the "black bar", this rebar, although prone to corrosion, is used in almost every type and scale of construction project.
3. Epoxy-Coated Rebar. Another black rebar, but with an epoxy coat. Unlike black bars, this is more resistant to corrosion.
4. Galvanized Rebar. Forty times more resistant to corrosion than epoxy-coated rebar, and 40% higher than the latter in cost.
5. Glass-Fiber-Reinforced-Polymer (GFRP). Purely resistant to corrosion but costs are ten times more than epoxy-coated rebar.
6. Stainless Steel Rebar. The most expensive rebar but also considered the best rebar for most construction projects.
