Celebrating 50 years as the first choice in Engineering Design, Construction & Maintenance

Over the last 50 years, CPC Engineering has developed and maintained strong relationships with our clients, delivering beyond expectation in an open and honest manner. This simple and consistent approach forms the basis for our continuous growth and success.

CPC has developed a reputation as a leading mid-tier provider of engineering design, construction and maintenance services to the mineral resources sector. Our highly skilled and talented team has the experience and expertise to deliver practical solutions, supported by seamless integration of design and project systems, to fast-track project delivery.

We are well positioned to respond quickly and effectively to project requirements through a well-established network of workshops and design facilities.

CPC Engineering commenced operations from a small office and fabrication workshop in Kambalda. The original owners identified a market niche for mine and plant maintenance and engineering services in and around the Kambalda region, particularly for major client, Western Mining Corporation.

1980 – 1999

CPC steadily expanded its operation to include a machine shop, stainless steel fabrication and a small fleet of mobile cranes, trucks and light vehicles. In addition to process plant work, CPC expanded into underground maintenance and construction. The underground business continued to grow until the late 1990’s when CPC had gained an industry-wide reputation for the design, fabrication, construction and maintenance of mining-related infrastructure projects. The workforce had grown to 35 and the company had acquired a broad range of plant and equipment including underground-registered cranes, trucks, integrated tool carriers, light vehicles and specialised tooling. The company had also built a sandblasting and painting facility which gave CPC a strategic advantage over its competitors.

Early 2000s

The demand for CPC’s services grew to such an extent that the company expanded beyond the Western Australian Goldfields and began taking on work from across the state. Within 12 months the company had increased its workforce to 50 and expanded its client base to well over 30 companies.

CPC Engineering undertook a major upgrade program at Kambalda and established two new divisions in Kalgoorlie and Ravensthorpe. At the same time, the company actively pursued key leaders in the fields of engineering, finance and occupational health and safety.

CPC opened its Project Design office in West Perth, as well as a Pilbara Construction and Maintenance division in Port Hedland responding to rapid growth and demand for engineering design and construction services within Western Australia. Both operations work collaboratively with the Kalgoorlie, Kambalda and Ravensthorpe operations to provide their clients with a full scope of engineering services.

The Asset Management division was established to meet the demand for an integrated approach to maintenance and reliability.
