Tharwa Sands is a family owned company run by John and Anna Hyles. The company was first established in 1974 and has grown since then into Canberra’s leading supplier of sand and gravel.

We produce a large number of landscaping and building products, and customers are able to buy direct from the quarry.

Tharwa Sands is a leading producer of Washed River Sand, Ginninderra Red Granite, Ginninderra Red Ornamental Stone, Washed River Pebble and Topsoil. These products are sold at competitive rates throughout the Canberra, Goulburn, Sydney and Southern Highlands regions.
