Middle-Earth Constructions is a Tasmanian, family-owned building company specialising in sustainable, architecturally designed homes crafted from natural materials. Established in the early 1980s by Phil and Sue Hart, the business quickly became Tasmania’s leading mud-brick home builder and has continued to evolve over four decades. We are recognised for our expertise in ultra-insulated, solar-passive design that delivers long-term comfort and energy efficiency. Our work spans both residential and commercial projects, with a strong focus on straw bale construction as a renewable and high-performance building method. We have successfully built or contributed to more than one hundred sustainable homes across Tasmania and Victoria.
