CERTLOC Global is a not-for-profit Certified Locator Institute dedicated to raising the standard of underground utility locating and excavation safety across Australia. Since 2015 (formerly DBYD Certification Ltd), we have pioneered industry-leading training, assessment, and certification programs for locators, civil contractors, utility organisations, councils, and other ground-disturbing professionals.

Our programs empower individuals and organisations to make safer, more informed excavation decisions by building knowledge, technical skills, and competency in line with the Australian Standard AS 5488 and the Safe Work Australia Model Code of Practice: Excavation Work. More than 7,000 industry professionals have completed our damage prevention training, with over 1,100 utility locators now certified. Our certifications are widely recognised by major asset owners and utility providers.

• Underground Asset Location Programs – in-field, classroom, or customised sessions to strengthen knowledge and technical skills.
• Certified Locator (CL) Program – Independent assessment and certification of locators’ knowledge, technical skills and professional competency.
• Certified Locating Organisation (CLO) Program – Recognition for organisations that meet rigorous industry standards, including the employment of Certified Locators and adherence to safe, reliable locating practices. Certification provides certified employees with authorised access permissions to asset owner networks for the purpose of locating underground assets.
